Holly Margaret

“You know, if I ever need a private investigator, I’ll just hire a news reporter instead. How they get half their stories is beyond me, look: just days after I return to NNYC and they’re already reporting on it.” Holly shook the newspaper’s front page at Leo, pointing at the article in question. “Honestly, it’s outrageous. It’s only a matter of time before they find out about my new real estate holdings in Anchor Rock.”

Leo laughed. “Ah, Holly, back in the limelight.” The sun shone overhead, dusting the NNYC skyline with its golden rays. The two stood on the train platform as the crowd around them jostled and clambered onto the waiting locomotive. “Thanks again for letting me visit. I had a lovely time.”

Holly smiled. “Oh, no worries at all, dear. You’re always welcome back – my house is too big for just one person anyways.” The train’s whistle screeched sharply, ushering passengers into the cabins. “Well, I suppose you’d better go then. Next train isn’t for another week, after all.”

The two exchanged a quick hug as Leo joined the throng pushing to board the carriage. As the train pulled off, Holly watched as it slowly vanished into the distance, leaving only puffs of steam behind it. With a contented sigh, she began walking back towards the parking lot when her phone rang. She clicked her tongue as the caller ID flashed across her screen.

“Ah, John Dory, darling how are you? Yes, yes, I know the exhibition starts in just a few days, Jennifer won’t let me forget about it,” she said as she climbed into her car, phone wedged between her ear and shoulder. “No, I’m sure you’ll look fabulous, you always do. Mhm, yes darling, of course.”

As the conversation continued, Holly started her car and sped off towards home. Well, one of her two anyways.
