Between each session of Transference, your character will have the remainder of the day to go about their lives and enact any plots they may have come up with. During this time, players can take actions as conveyed to the GM team through turnsheets.
Transference will have minimal downtime on the basis of “mini-turnsheets”, through Discord rather than through the wiki. Each character will have their own channel on the Discord server: this is where you tell us what your character is doing in downtime and also where you will receive your completed turnsheet from GMs in advance of the next session. These turnsheets will be very short – see the samples provided for a sense of length.
Please copy the following template into a Discord message, and fill it in.
Where in Anchor Rock are you going? This can be somewhere on the list of locations but does not have to be.
What are you doing there? Please describe one action.
Do you have any relevant quirks?
Will any other characters be involved?
If your turnsheet does not fit into a single Discord message, it’s probably too long. Remember, you have less than a day in character per turnsheet – there is a limit to how much you can accomplish (and to how much we can write in response). You’re welcome to also send us character thoughts separate from a turnsheet, but if you do, please make it clearly distinct, and please understand that we cannot guarantee these thoughts will have an impact on the game, although they’re good for GMs to know.
The deadline for turnsheets is 6pm on Wednesday, the day after the session. This is to allow the GM team time to read through and prepare in advance of our meeting discussions. We do know life gets in the way sometimes and late turnsheets do happen, but please do let us know so we can accommodate it into our plans and we may become grumpy should it become a regular occurrence or if you fail to let us know. As GM meetings are scheduled for Wednesday evening, please do understand if you submit your turnsheets late, you are less likely to be able to have any impact on the other players or the town as we will not have had a chance to discuss it.
The GMs will write a brief response to each turnsheet, outlining the in-character outcome of your actions. We will aim to get a response to your turnsheet to you on Monday before each session. These responses will be sent in the form of a message to your Discord channel. If you have any questions about your turnsheet response, please contact your GM before the start of the session and we'll try to clear everything up.

Will any other characters be involved? Deanna Zhao
Reply: Your trip to the ranch is uneventful, and Deanna greets you cheerfully. Of course she has something new to tell; have you heard that Charlie bought a bunch of flowers for one of the transfers? She gives you a box of fresh eggs before you leave. That night, you dream of your missing partner, looking at spices in a market full of sounds and colors you don’t recognize.
Where in Anchor Rock are you going? This can be somewhere on the list of locations but does not have to be. The Library.
What are you doing there? Please describe one action. Use the phone to call home.
Do you have any relevant quirks? Observant.
Will any other characters be involved? No.
Reply: You find that there is a line for the telephone; as you wait, you hear Jeannie having a tense discussion with someone on the other end of the line and Quinn arguing with Danny about computer settings across the room. When it’s finally your turn, your mother picks up the phone. It’s a relief to hear from her, and you only realize your turn is up when the next person taps you on the shoulder.
